About Kerene
How I coach
I believe the most important thing we can focus on in our lives is ourselves. When we put ourselves first and become the best we can be – everything else naturally falls into place.
Coaching is about giving yourself permission to put ‘you’ first! Too often we lose sight of who we really are and how we want to live our lives. We can get so busy or detached that we no longer know what it is we really want, or for some reason - on some level believe we are not good enough, or can’t really have it!
Whether you are an Executive or Personal client, you realise that coaching is about personal growth, change and doing things differently.
When Ghandi said "we must be the change we wish to see in the world" he meant - don’t wait around for the world or others to change – change yourself!
My Personal clients know that until they develop their strength of character; get fit and healthy; have strong relationships with colleagues and people close to them; work and live life doing the things they love - life can lose its sense of meaning and purpose.
As an Executive client you understand that being coached is as much about developing who you are as a person, as it is about learning new skills to manage the challenges which confront you in your career. Because you recognise everything you do impacts on both you and the people around you – you want a coach who focuses on both your personal growth and professional development, making you a more effective leader and manager!
And you want to extend yourself by translating your personal growth into expanding your career.
We all want to move from just surviving to thriving in life! Whether this equates to having a high flying career providing excitement and fulfilment, enhanced personal relationships, finding inner peace, or working out your life’s purpose – coaching is a fantastic opportunity to get you there!
It’s all about finding ways which work for you - then creating the life and career which challenges and excites you.
Coaching is not just about achieving your goals it’s about being the ‘best you’ that you can be!
Why I Coach
My clients tell me I significantly change their lives. When I make a difference to you, my own life is enhanced - giving me a sense of purpose, drive and commitment.
Very simply - I coach because I enjoy it and because my clients tell me I am very good at it!

About Kerene
My background is in health and education. I started my career as a Registered Nurse and began teaching not long after moving to New Zealand from Australia in the mid 1980’s. During my years as a teacher I gained both undergraduate and post graduate degrees. Teaching led me into research and management roles, and I found myself leading teams through constant change.
Coach training seemed like a natural development so I undertook a variety of programmes including intensive; team; workplace and executive coaching courses. Coaching techniques proved to be ground breaking and gave me the skills to successfully lead large projects. I found coaching techniques facilitated positive change; diffused the emotive component of people going through change, focused people on what they personally need to do in order for change to happen; and enabled me to get better buy-in. As a project manager this allowed me to establish clear outcomes and timeframes, delegate responsibility and ensure people were held accountable. In a nutshell - coaching works!
The more I used coaching techniques to assist me leading teams and managing people, the more I felt compelled to coach. So I left a long and rewarding career in education and started my own coaching business. I have been coaching now for 4 years and I am very passionate about what I do, how I do it and who I work with. As well as running my own coaching business and having my own clients, I also facilitate team workshops, train, assess and mentor other coaches.
